“Calming and peaceful with friendly hosts

The ambience of the property is overall relaxing. The owners Sandra and Stephen treated us like family; very welcoming. The property is remote  but peaceful. Calming atmosphere. If you are looking for a quiet retreat away from the typical tourist scene this is the place to be. Private accommodations with the ability to prepare and eat what you want vs what's on the menu. The design of the living quarters is awesome, open concept and the river on the property is a bonus. The fact that it is close to the airport was perfect. I would return to Dominica just to go off the grid for a few days. Stay overall was worth every minute.

“Family friendly!”
Very close to the airport and very nice river for our kids to swim. Sandra and Stephen were very welcoming and helpful hosts. It is self catering and they helped us get some food before we arrived. The cottage we stayed in was very nice. A very good place to start our adventure in Dominica!

“The warmest home in the Jungle”
It has taken me far too long to write this but staying with Sandra and Stephen was a night forever remembered. Their warmth and adventure was the perfect end to my trip around Dominica, I considered myself lucky finding the perfect cottage by the river, enjoying home cooked food and lovely conversation. Located a short drive from the airport but just far enough that you feel it is a retreat. I wish I could prove my gratitude to this special couple, anyone visiting the area should add this to their to-dos. Thank you again Sandra and Stephen

The accomodation is located very close to Douglas Charles airport and is convenient for late/ early flights. The hosts Stephen and Sandra are very welcoming and hospitable and go out of their way to help you including airport runs and takeaways. In addition the Wifi is quite good.

“Great self-catering option close to the airport”
We stayed in Coffee River's smaller cottage, which is still very large with room for four. It has a full kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms upstairs in these funky lofts.

The property is very close to Charles-Douglas airport, making it a great place to stay when you first arrive or before you leave, especially if you don't want to drive a long distance in the dark. If Coffee River is the first place you stay and you're arriving in the dark, make sure you get good directions (or maybe you'll be as lucky as us and have the owner meet you at the airport to guide you!).

The owners are lovely and happy to help guests navigate the island.

Note that the property is off-grid.

Dominica's Paradise in a Cottage by the River

I had been living in the British Virgin Islands for 1 year and finally got time off work to go explore some more of the Caribbean. Of course Dominica was at the top of my list as it's world famous for it's tropical rainforests, waterfalls, hiking, diving, any much more!

I had an incredible trip doing everything I wanted to on this island paradise. For my last night I wanted to stay somewhere near the airport and I remember Coffee River Cottages was recommended to me so I checked it out online and even though it was a super last minute 1 night reservation, they were super helpful and happily booked me.

Upon my arrival, Sandra & Stephen, the owners, were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I felt like I was visiting long lost family/relatives! I was also blown away by the pure beauty of this property... it is truly an incredible location. After getting settled in and going for a swim in the river, I had some excellent conversation by the outstanding "hosts" Sandra & Stephen. They definitely offer a private cottage villa feel, but also are happy to visit if the guests are interested and they have time. Very respectful, genuine and fun people! After a great night enjoying the amazing location and great new friends, I went back to my cool little cottage and truly enjoyed my night staying there. It's extremely well-built and well maintaned... very attractive style and of course the fact that it's in the middle of the most beautiful rainforest you will ever see.

Overall, my stay at Coffee River Cottages was outstanding and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying here if you are lucky enough to visit Dominica. The only negative thing I have to say is that my stay wasn't long enough... if I had booked it on my first night, instead of my last night, I wouldn't have left lol. Thank you Sandra & Stephen for offering such an awesome place to stay on your beautiful country/island and for being such great people.
